Nyirenda: Tripple C did not show good discipline and sportsmanship
Chipolopolo coach Wedson Nyirenda says Clatous Chama Chota did not show good discipline and sportsmanship by his reaction when he was substituted in the first half of the 3 – 0 CHAN qualifier win over Swaziland.
Chama who scored twice a week ago in Mbabane when Zambia ran out 4 – 0 victors against Sihlangu was pulled out of the game in the 37th minute to give way for John Chingandu.
The incensed player went straight to the dressing room in what seemed to be a clear protest and was later seen in the stands.
“We have norms and standards of the team. This is an institution, the national team is not Wedson’s home and we have laws which everyone has to follow, if you falter, you are liable to be disciplined,” Wada Wada said as he gave a clear indication that disciplinary measures would be put in.
“It was a tactical substitution, we are obliged to make substitution when we deem fit. A player of his stature and the level he is playing at, he should understand that when he is not okay he is not okay, and other people can do the job.
“That is how it is, he is a player, I think it is not good discipline and sportsmanship for a player to behave that way.”
Nyirenda who now boasts of 5 wins in 6 games added that substitute John Chingandu did better than Chama when he came in. Zambia scored two goals within 8 minutes of his introduction.
“When John came in, the whole complexion of the game changed. I am glad that he did a better job.”
Chama was not part of the team that represented Zambia at the Cosafa tournament and Nyirenda faced criticism for not picking him.
He was brought back in the team for the first leg of the Swaziland tie but it remains to be seem if he will be part of the squad that will go in camp to prepare for a game against South Africa.
He behaves just like Fwayo Tembo.
@Anita thats unfair comparison, Fwayo never protest substitution in that manner, he just never show up to next match. Fwayo tatumpa, he is just a crook.
Kikkikiki now Ka Chama will be in same club as Fwayo
Wada wada is too small to coach a big team like zambia. Most of the players does not respect. They know he is not worth to coach them.
Naiwe Tony mash nomba your comment is as silly as chama’s behaviour, Wada wada’s position is an office that must be respected that ka chama must be thumped off the team if I were Wada wada I can’t even comment I can just chase him that is stupidity to the extreme. Naiwe wine as Zamfoot I will start blocking your comments for being an empty blogger.
Wada is wrong for airing dirty laundry in this manner. Chama was also wrong for his behavior. Not good things happening in Zambia national team right now
Not good for anyone this only trouble ahead.
It is unacceptable for ka chamas behaviour, just because pipo called for his inclusion and he thinks he is messi.foolish boy.
True..very foolish
I should say there’s a wrong trend going on in Zambian football; if left unchecked it will trigger more problems & I conquer with my colleague who posted and said there’s is a lot of indiscipline our game! The same thing that the so called Captain Rainford Kalaba did & You let him go unpunished; What do you think other players could be doing? Is to emulate the captain!!! The punishment should start with KALABA first!!! DON’T CALL INDISPLINE KALABA TO THE SQUAD & KA CHAMA OUT! FWAYO TEMBO TO REPLACE HIM!!!!
I agree with you 100% discipline is cardinal if we are to succeed…. that ka Chama could not have done that if it was a white coach I strongly encourage the coach to discipline this boy!
After being substituted, Ronaldo was furious and threw a towel at Sir Alex! The following season he was let go. Who is Chama honestly? The Chipolopolo is bigger than this midget. He is playing ‘God’, hit his knuckles b4 its too late.
midget kikikiki! that is why he was chased from Egypt!
Unprofecional behaviour
kapyemo wu z he? ata
These guys need education, balefikakofye nangu mu grade mind yachinjako. If indeed Chama is triple “C” why cant he be Cool, Calm & Collecte? Chansoni!!!
Indiscipline. Coach does have a right to issue a statement. We see it all the time in the premier league when coaches are asked. He should be suspended for a few games. Let him be used as an example for others.
Just like kaClifford. He never saw light of day in a Chipolopolo jersey after his shenanigans at AFCON 2012. He was the bigger loser at the end of the day while his teammates lifted the TROPHY AND MADE HISTORY!
Graziano Pelle of Italy was dropped from the national team for doing exactly what Chama did.. Pelle was the main striker for Italy in that period but now its a year plus and he has been forgotten.. Wada Wada as a national team coach has every right to issue a statement and go further as dropping that big headed lad who has not done anything yet for mother Zambia.
Agree with Thoko Ngwenya… a hot temper costs in the end.
I think we are throwing a lot of shade at the player before even considering that they may be a deeper issue at hand here. This boy and the coach obviously have issues and had it not been for us fans calling for his inclusion he would not even have been called for the game.
In my opinion the coach was being his usual petty self and simply getting back at the player. The player’s reaction was wrong and now he has given the coach an avenue to have “valid reasons” not to call him in future.
Agreed Big Steve there is more to this though the player was wrong to behave in such a manner. This was disrespecting the entire team. They other ways of airing your frustrations. Look at Mbesuma came on as a substitute and again substituted in same much by HR. The guy went and sat on the bench like nothing happened. Cletus was wrong.
Agreed Clatuos was wrong. That is certainly not the behavior of a professional.
That said though, when looking at the incident it should be taken into consideration that there are deeper issues here and it should not be a situation were only the one action is considered. The whole picture should be brought to light.
@BIG Steve, I agree with you! The coach was forced by us to include this triple C….? We can never know! It may look like he is a fault finder coach!
when one thinks he is better than the others…awe shuwa…ukutumpa
i mean were he played well
Regardless of whether there are so called deeper issues, it is not right for the little boy to exhibit such stupid and silly behavior. He can easily take a leaf from players like Emmanuel Zulu,Clifford Mulenga,Gibson Shikilwa, Shy Kumwenda etc. These were young players who thought by being talented they owned the whole world, What happened to their careers? This boy Cleotus is the opposite of his elder brother Adrian.Adrian though not very talented but he is a humble and disciplined young man.And anyway, what has this little boy done for Zambia so far for him to behave in such a way? He has not contributed anything yet to mother Zambia.Big contributors like Kalusha Bwalya and Joseph Musonda have never before behaved like he did,and that’s the reason why their careers have lasted. It is just that our football talent has gone down, in the days of Kenan Simambe,Patrick Banda,Numba Mwila, Godfrey Kangwa etc, this boy with his level of talent would not have come anywhere closer to the national team.LET THIS BOY TONE DOWN.
