Christine ‘Kanono’ Mwale on target in Msisi Queens United win

Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Women’s League Lusaka Province Division One side Radar Queens hosted Misisi Queens United in an exciting rescheduled week 17 encounter at Zambia Air Force (ZAF) Mount Eugenia Ground in Sekelela, Lusaka West.

It was an exciting game to watch which saw Misisi continuing with their impressive run managing a hard fought 1-nil victory courtesy of a lone goal in the 56th minute from the mesmerising Midfielder and captain for the day Christine ‘Kanono’ Mwale who has now scored 10 goals this season.

It was a game of two halves with both teams having their own share of chances with Radar Queens missing some sure scoring opportunities thanks to Misisi goalkeeper Harriet Tembo who put up a good shift despite her head injury in the first half but she forged ahead throughout the match while her opposite number could feel she could have done better especially after her mistake gave chance to Christine to score the match winning goal which proved to be the difference.

Heading into the final fixtures of the season this weekend will see both Misisi and Radar Queens renewing their rivalry as they face each other yet again at Katwishi Ground.

The Queens of Misisi are on 2nd position with 70 points, 13 behind runaway log leaders and champions Chikonaty Academy also known as the Bola Na Lesa Girls  while The Sekelela-based side, Radar Queens are 6th with 58 points and may be potentially awarded 3 points after they appealed their game against ZedPro played under protest.
