Zambia super division side Power Dynamos on Friday evening held their end of year awards gala at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe which saw Chipolopolo defender Chris Munthali walk away with the player of the year award.
Munthali who had a successful year at the centre of defence for both his club and the national team helped Power to a third place finish and was key for Zambia in the Africa Cup of Nations and CHAN qualifiers.
He played 32 of his club’s 35 games.
Other players awarded are Lawrence Chungu was given the award of most consistent player, striker Martin Phiri who was the club’s second highest scorer with six goals walked away with the most improved player award.
Full back Govenda Simwala was given the most disciplined and outstanding player awards.
Nkana FC striker, Jimmy Ndhlovu, who was on loan at Power Dynamos for the first half of the season ended the year as Power Dynamos’ top scorer with eight goals but was not give the golden 2015 golden boot award by the club.
