Zambia’s continental envoys Green Eagles are optimistic about hosting their CAF Confederations Cup matches at Choma’s Independence Stadium.
Their has been widespread concern the stadium might not meet international standards but the Zambia National Service sponsored side have been in thick of things as the stadium is undergoing a face lift.
“We are confident that we will host our games here in Choma. We are doing everything possible,” an insider told the ZamFoot Crew
From the images, the dressing room has been worked on as well as chairs are being installed in the open wing.
Green Eagles completed one of the most remarkable stories in the history of Zambian football by clinching a CAF Confederations Cup place at the expense of the likes of Zanaco, Power Dynamos and the two ‘money bags’ Buildcon and Lusaka Dynamos.
Written off as relegation candidates at the start of the 2018 season, the Aggrey Chiyangi coached side secured their first continental birth in the club’s history.

On the field Eagles have made seven new signings.
Six have been acquired on permanent basis while one on a season long loan. The players are George Chaloba, Justin Munyikwa and Amit Shamende all from relegated National Assembly
others include Ray Mutale from New Monze Swallows,Michael Mwenya from Kitwe United and Mukabanga Susu Siambombe from Lusaka Dynamos.
Edward Mwamba has joined the Aggrey Chiyangi tutored out-fit on a season long loan deal from high flying Nkwazi.

GO EAGLES GO
I am speechless.
It was only in June last year when I watched a Green Eagles vs NAPSA Stars (2-2) drawn game at this stadium in Choma. That is when I realised why almost all visitors fail to win at this ground.
It was in my opinion the worst football stadium I have ever seen in Zambia.
Now what I have seen has amazed me.
I rest my case, Speechless.
this facelist is below standards and has cheap looks to it. people will just be shocked on the amount spent if you reveal it compared to the works done. for the same amount you should have given it to the chinese country men to do something decent and make it a show case to the visitors.
