Chiyangi thankful to FAZ for the support rendered to Chipolopolo

The Zambia CHAN team are one step into the CHAN tournament, Zambia managed a narrow win away from home in eSwatini. Shamende Amity graced his debut in National Colors with the only goal of the game giving the Chipolopolo Boys an advantage heading into the return leg.

Upon arrival from the Eswatini, the Chipolopolo stand-in coach Aggrey was full of words of thanks to the Executive Committee and Secretariat for their continued support and motivation towards the team while playing away from home.

“On behalf of the team I want to thank the Executive Committee and the Secretariat for the support that was given to the team to make it possible for the team to travel and be motivated as we went to Eswatini,” he said.

Chiyangi also took time to acknowledge the importance of the Zambian fans that also traveled to Swaziland cheering up the boys away from home. Chiyangi praised the commitment of his players to win a match he felt was very tough.

“The team did very well, The commitment from everyone was positive and the players did their best on the field, It was not an easy game. I know people still have teams on paper but I think football in Africa is changing because the players had to work very hard to get the goal that we needed but what was important for us was to make sure that we come back with a positive result which we did,” he said.

The Copper Bullets will host Eswatini at National Heroes Stadium on 19th October 2019 for the second leg to decide who will book a place at the tournament to be hosted by Cameroon early next year.
