Chiyangi talks top four, Tapson Kaseba’s missed chances and playing ABSA Cup

Green Eagles football club cruised into the top four on the log table following a 2-0 win over Kansanshi Dynamos in a rescheduled week 11 Match at the Independence Stadium in Choma Yesterday.

According to the Head Coach, Aggrey Chiyangi collecting maximum points was the target for his side. Chiyangi went on today that the belief that Kansanshi Dynamos is a ‘small’ team should be thrown out the window.

“What we wanted is that we get three points so that so that as we have to three days or four days rest at least we sit on the fourth position, and we told them that we should not Underate Kansanshi because they are not a bad side you find they are losing games but you Should not Underate any team you Just have to be serious as if we are playing any other team,” Chiyangi told the ZamFoot Crew.

Chiyangi is sweating over the fitness of the first choice goalkeeper Sebastian Mwange and hopes that he will be available for the next fixture after being Substituted due to injury.

“It’s not so bad the only thing is they collided but I think he was stepped on the ankle and it pained so much so that’s why he failed to withstand the pain so we had no option but to change him we hope to see him in the next game.”

Despite Tapson Kaseba being the ‘Hero’ of the day after scoring a brace, Chiyangi admitted that he was expecting more from him but however luck of concentration from his charges cost the team more goals.

Chiyangi further added that cementing a top-four slot in round one of the season is key but he clearly stated that they can only achieve that through hard work.

“As a coach you are never satisfied you still want to see more goals, Tapson could have scored even four goals today. He has scored two goals which are important but we still need him to score more goals but again it’s luck Concentration towards the goal,” Chiyangi said.

“For us, it’s important to keep ourselves in the Top Four brackets it’s going to be tough because every team is fighting to play continental if we can win more games then it will be good, our target is that as we end the first round we have to make sure that we remain in the top six which is important for us because we want to qualify for the ABSA Cup then secondly we are focusing again on playing Continental football next season.”

The Choma based outfit are currently fourth on the log table with 23 Points while Kansanshi Dynamos are twelveth with just thirteen points.
