Chisi Mbewe has named a 36 member squad for a first residential camp ahead of the Egypt 2023 Africa Cup Nations.
Mbewe has called the majority of the players who were instrumental in the teams’ qualification to the continental showpiece.
Defender Ricky Chanda who is currently on the books of City of Lusaka has made a return to the team after missing the COSAFA tournament.
Skipper Dominic Kanda, goalkeeper Jeban Tembo, COSAFA U-20 player of the tournament Charles Majapa Mumba and exciting winger Songa Chipyoka have all made the cut for the provisional squad.
The squad will enter a residential camp on Sunday in Lusaka in the first phase of preparation for the continental showpiece that will be held in February next year.
Zambia returns to the under-20 AFCON fold for the first time since their 2017 expedition that saw them lift the crown on home soil.
Chisi is being assisted by Albert Mphande, Alfred Lupiya, Emmanuel Msichili and Donwell Yobe.
