Chisamba turns down Chipolopolo call up

Midfielder Chisamba Lungu has stuck to his decision not to play for the national team and has consequently snubbed the call up for this weekend’s game.

According to Chipolopolo team manager Stanley Kaseko, Chisamba will not be available for the Kenya games.

“Chisamba wont be coming for this game. We did everything to enable him travel but he has refused to come.”

“So we can not force him if he is not ready. He will be considered for fututure assignments,” Kaseko told the Times of Zambia.

After the Chipolopolo’s last assignment in Guinea Bissau, the Ural midfielder complained of being left on the bench when he traveled all the way from Russia calling the predicament ‘a waste of tax payers money.’

He later stated that he had quit the national team.

All local based players together with Lewis Macha and Wistone Kalengo trained yesterday with the TP Mazembe duo of Rainford Kalaba and Nathan Sinkala expected to be part of the training today.

  1. Lwandamina what he did was very wrong to leave chisamba and start with katema(should be a relative) where on earth can that happen .That boy is no where near the national team material may be he can try hockey not football .I agree with chisambas refusal , he can only come back when ingesund is takes charge. For now let lwandamina complete his failed tenure as head coach .I am very disapointed with him as chipolopolo coach(he is not yet there) .

  2. This is an opportunity for KELVIN MUBANGA to be considered for the Chipolopolo. Kelvin is an exciting lad that can do wonders on and off the ball. His technique on the free kick taking is next to none. Coach Patrick Phiri described him saying he Bends it Like David Beckham. So he rightly is the man for the Job. Its KELVIN MUBANGA of Power Transport.

  3. KELVIN MUBANGA of Power Dynamos is the perfect replacement for Chisamba Lungu. Its a good chance to use Kelvin Mubanga. His movements on and off the ball are a marvel to watch. His technique when it comes to FREE KICKS is amazing. Coach Patrick Phiri describes Kelvin as the David Beckham of this Zambia. He simply bends it like Beckham. He went on to say its incredible that we have such talent in Zambia. Its not too late, he can join the team in camp NOW. CALL KELVIN MUBANGA to the National Team Now.

  4. Chisamba has made the best choice. Let Lwandamina complete his bull shit run until another coach takes charge. What lwandamina did was totally nonsense. My advice to the incoming coach is that hew should also consider Kelvim Mubang and Fwayo Tembo. Ba Lwandamina bena kuculaculafye

  5. Sad riddance….. I think Chisamba doesn’t want to play under coach Lwandamina and will therefore only honor callups with a new coach at the helm of the job…. I wander why Zambia under this coach seldom play attacking football but prefer to use two defensive midfielders always…. A good Coach can physique an players such as Chisamaba to help defensively in such scenarios but not with Chicken who chose Katema over Chisamba in the Guinea game

  6. This unpatriotic guy will come crawling back if Zambia qualify (doubtful) for the World Cup. What an arrogant player; even Sergio Aguero sits on the bench when Argentina recalls him, but he still accepts the call up.

    • This game is useless and it’s annoying to know that chicken is still there may be for the WC qualifiers he should come for now C lungu is right staying away from this game. This is all FAz mistake kuwayawayefye

  7. Yes Kelvin must be called he deserve it . Remember how he helped the U23 team to qualify to Senegal hadn’t been for an injury Zambia was going to advice to the knock out stages.

  8. Could someone advise me why we are even calling up professionals from the other side of the globe for this rubber stamp game. There is completely no value in calling up tried and tested players for a rubber stamp game we should only use locals for this game. Leave the professionals to establish themselves at their respective clubs. Look at Lewis, he is yet to fully establish himself at Chiefs and has a mountain to climb playing under a coach who does not necessarily believe in foreign talent. The league just kicked off why call him up for this dead beat game? Calling Chisamba from Russia is surely a pure waste of tax payers money. Use local players only finish and klaar.

  10. I respect each & every play’s decision & what C/Lungu did I respect that coz each & everyone who has commented on this article he/she has or we all have decisions in life & that’s to take & not to take it, so why should we keep on insulting or look down on our friends’ decisions..?

  11. Zambia is not serious. I thought Igeaund was coach. Are you really serious. Algeria and Cameroon have qualified for AFCON and are going to get into shape by next year. Nigeria who seem the weakest of tbe three, South African teams find difficulty beating on a silver platter and Nigeria is in building progress. Wake up Chipolopolo you are kidding us muy AFRICAN GAINTS 2012 Champs. lolx
