Chisamba, Ng’onga starts…as Wada goes for a midfield three

Power Dynamos striker Alex ‘Bazo’ Ng’onga has been named in the starting XI against Nigeria.

And Chisamba Lungu returns to the starting line up as he joins Enock Mwepu and Kondwani Mtonga in the engine room.

Though he has passed a late fitness test, Paston Daka will start on the bench.

Patson Daka has been struggling with knock even though Wedson Nyirenda said he is fit, there’s a general feeling that he might not last the entire game.

The other option is Justine Shonga but after he below par performance against Algeria last month when he was handed his first start in the qualifiers, Wada has his reservations.

Without Brian Mwila then it’s not a surprise that Wada is leaning towards Alex ‘Bazo’ Ng’onga.

Ng’onga has banged in 6 goals in 9 appearances for Power Dynamos since his return from Gabon.

Wada might be going for a midfield triumvirate with Enock Mwepu on the top of triangle while Chisamba Lungu and Kondwani Mtonga at the base in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

  1. Wada has done a great job with the line up. I think this Copper Bullet is good to go. No way will Nigeria defeat Chipolopolo. My guess is 3-0 with Zambia winning hands down
