Chirundu United coach Caston Chilekwa has praised his players’ character in their ABSA Cup last 16 victory over Kabwe Warriors.
Chirundu United came from two goals down to force the match to penalties where they beat Kabwe Warriors to progress to the last eight.
“I think it’s a great experience for me as a coach, my technical bench, and the players. It was all about character in the second half because in the first half we gave them so much respect,” he said.
“I am sure in the next game we need to be on top of things. We need to respect whoever we face in the quarterfinal and plan well for them.”
The border boys will face ZANACO who beat Kafue Celtic 2-1 in their round of 16 encounter.
Humphrey Bwembya and Saith Sakala scored a goal each as Kabwe Warriors went ahead in the first half.
But second half goals from Kuna Chabala and Godfrey Chinga forced the match to penalties where goalkeeper Stacial Kangwa was the hero saving two post kicks.
