ZESCO United newcomer Chipyoka Songa has set sights on doing more as he realizes he has joined a big club.
The former Zambia U-17 winger has already netted twice from free kicks but feels could have done more with the chances he has had in preparatory games.
“I am not too excited with my recent performance because I feel I could have gotten more than two goals. I had some good scoring opportunities which I feel I should have easily converted,” Chipyoka told ZESCO United media.
“This is a great club with a lot of expectations. I am working hard every day to ensure that am ready for the new season.”
Meanwhile Chipyoka says ZESCO United senior players have made his life easier for him since joining the nine-times league champions.
“They have been fantastic, and they welcomed me very well. This has made settling here much easier. I also have a lot of friends among the young players. My target is to keep pushing and working hard each day.”
Songa, 18, is an exciting attacking midfielder seen as a future star player for the nine-time Zambian Super League Champions.
A product of Shamuel Soccer Academy, Songa has quickly blossomed into the game earning himself a two-year loan move to Lusaka Dynamos which ended last season.
Chipyoka was the one positive about Lusaka Dynamos in the first half of the season which earned him trials at South African DSTV premiership side, Cape Town City.
Songa joined Elite Lusaka Dynamos in November 2020 from Lusaka Provincial Division One side Shamuel Academy.
The 17-year-old nearly joined Buildcon in January but the deal fell through. Songa also attended trials in Turkey in February.
