Chipolopolo’s proposed Spain camp off due to Visa hitches 

The Chipolopolo Boys ‘ proposed European camp ahead of next month’s back to back Group E 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Tanzania and Morocco respectively is off following challenges to acquire VISAs. 

Chipolopolo head coach Avram Grant who was speaking to the media on Monday afternoon confirmed that they faced challenges in acquiring VISAs to Spain for the proposed camp. 

“Preparations will start two days from now unofficially and officially on 1st June. We tried to do it in Spain but we had issues with our Visa. We could not get the visas for everyone so we will do the camp in Lusaka,” Grant said. 

Grant recently announced a 27 member provisional squad which will enter camp later this week to start preparations. 

Zambia are currently second in group E after beating Congo Brazzaville 4-2 on Match Day one before losing 2-1 to Niger on Match Day 2. 

Winners of each Group will automatically qualify for the FIFA World Cup™ 2026. 

The four best runners-up (from the Groups) will play in a CAF Play-Off tournament. 

The winner of the CAF Play-Off Tournament will play in the FIFA Play-off Tournament.
