Chipolopolo to play two international friendly matches

The Zambia national team is expected to play two international friendly matches before the start of their busy schedule.

New Chipolopolo head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic hinted on this when he spoke to the media on Monday afternoon during his unveiling at Barca Academy.

“We are looking at two International friendly matches we shall inform you. Like I always say we have to try and experiment in friendly games and when competitive games come we need to compete,” he said.

Micho went on to give hope to young who hope to play for the Copper Bullets as he clarified that age was not a factor in choosing players for national team duty.

“Age does not play a role there are criteria and standards that are put into consideration. We shall look to have players that we wear the jersey with pride and deliver what the fans are expecting no matter the age.”

Zambia has a busy schedule ahead starting with back to back AFCON qualifiers against Botswana in March.

The Copper Bullets are also expected to start their race to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar later this year. Zambia was drawn in Group B alongside Tunisia, Mauritania and Equatorial Guinea.

  1. Lets give the Coach an opportunity to showcase what he can do. He needs time. We had a very bad start to the Afcon Qualifiers. Lost two out of two. This means we have to win all our remaining games to stand a chance of qualifying.

This is pressure!! I ‘m happy Oswald Mutapa has been included as one of the Coaching Staff. Which Phiri, is this who is going to be the Goal Keeper Coach?
