The Zambia National team will face off with the Chosen team, Israel national team during the November FIFA international window.
The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) confirmed the development in a statement by Communications manager, Sydney Mungala which was availed to the ZamFoot Crew.
“The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) wishes to inform its members and stakeholders that the Chipolopolo will play an international friendly match with the Israel National Team during the November FIFA window.”
FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala says the match will be played at Petach Tikva Stadium.
“We are excited to announce the organization of an international friendly match between Zambia and Israel to be staged on November 17, 2022, during the FIFA window,” Kashala told FAZ Media.
“The match will be held in Europe with both teams fielding their A-teams for the FIFA approved game. We would like to thank our colleagues from Israel for having agreed to play us. Over the years we have had football ties that have seen Zambia players ply their trade in Israel. Notably Emmanuel Mayuka, Evans Kangwa, William Njobvu, Lameck Banda, Klings Kangwa, Roger Kola, Francis Kasonde, Fwayo Tembo and Justin Zulu have left a footprint in Israel.”
The Blue and Whites are coached by former Watford player Alon Hazan and the technical director is former Chelsea and Liverpool player Yossi Benayoun.
Israel has a core of players from England, Germany , Belgium, Austria, Scotland , Serbia, USA, Holland, Cyprus , Bulgaria.
The game was made possible with the help of Israeli agent Nir Karin.
The Chipolopolo Boys last international friendly match was against the Eagles of Mali last month which the Bullets lost 1-0 thanks to a first goal by El Bilal Touré.
