The Chipolopolo Boys will face FIFA World Cup-bound Bafana Bafana in an international friendly match on Friday, 14 November 2025 in South Africa at a venue to be confirmed.
The South African Football Association (SAFA) confirmed the development on their official website.
“FIFA World Cup-bound Bafana Bafana will face Zambia in an international friendly match to be played at home next month.The match will be played in South Africa on Friday, 14 November 2025.”
The match is part of coach Hugo Broos’ preparations for this year’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco at the end of the year.
Coach Avram Grant will also use this opportunity to fine his side ahead of the continental showpiece.
SAFA will confirm the match venue and the ticketing details in the coming days.
After a disastrous World Cup qualification run, The Chipolopolo have since shifted their focus to the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Morocco 2025 which will take place between 21st December 2025 and 18th January 2026.
Zambia is in Group A alongside hosts Morocco, West African giants Mali, and Comoros.
The 2012 AFCON winners returned to the tournament last year after an eight year absence but were booted out in the group stage.
Meanwhile Bafana Bafana are in Group B and will face Egypt, Angola and Zimbabwe.
Broos’ charges returned with a bronze medal during their last appearance at the AFCON after beating DR Congo 6-5 on penalties at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium in Côte d’Ivoire to claim third place in February last year.
The South African senior men’s team qualified for next year’s FIFA World Cup after beating Rwanda 3-0 in Mbombela, Mpumalanga, last week.
