Chipolopolo coach George Lwandamina has summoned nine foreign based players for next week’s World Cup qualifier against Sudan.
Zambainfootball.co.zm understands that Lwandamina has stuck to the players who delivered against Kenya in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier with the inclusion of Aaron Katebe and Israel based Evans Kangwa.
The duo join captain Rainford Kalaba, Kennedy Mweene, Nathan Sinkala, Chisamba Lungu, Lubambo Musonda, Stopilla Sunzu and red hot Mpumalanga Black Aces striker Collins Mbesuma.
There is still no place in the team for China based striker Jacob Mulenga who previously snubbed a national team call up as well as Emmanuel Mbola and Rogers Kola both of plying their trade in the East.
The nine will join up with the local lads who are currently in Angola were they will play in a four nations tournament.
Zambia play Sudan on Wednesday 11th November with return leg scheduled for Sunday 15th November.
Lwandamina could have better called Kabaso Chongo and Emmanuel Mbola as well
Mweene, just scary mwee. We know is a gentleman, I respect him, team needs him, BUT his energy has dropped.
Am now loosing Peciance with my former neighbour Mr Chicken George Lwandamina with his continues behavior of leaving out players who can perform like Emmanuel Mbola, Kabaso Chongo, Fwayo Tembo, Roger Kola etc he seems to be getting stubborn also. It is for this reason that we always cry for an expertriate coach because when it comes to selecting players they don’t follow grudges
Kez my brother dont leave on past glory look at all the players you are mentioning and I would ask you when did you lastly watch those guys? Kabaso Chongo watches the game from the terreces now in case you dont know, Emmanuel Mbola is a player that has been given so many chances by so many coaches and has completely failed to tick, Rodgers Kola has failed to mature and jail in the naktional team. So players are picked on current bassed form not past glory
That Kabaso Chongo, is it that it is only easier to write and pronounce his name like Fwayo Tembo? Those 2 player, I never watched them show me they are good players.
That Kangwa too, ine umwaiche tatumfwana.
Kabaso Chongo is a bench warmer at TPM. In fact in most cases, he does not even sit on the bench. Maybe Mbola. yes, his experience could be vital. But one players I feel should be considered in Fackson Kapumbu. I think that guy is a good left full back and should be given a chance. As for Fwayo and Kola, lets forget. As long as Kalusha is still at FAZ, these two will never play for Zambia. At least Fwayo has a chance. Petty grudges with players are too much in Zambian football. Thats why foreign based coaches are better as they choose players based on merit.
WEAK WING DEFENDERS WE WIL BE IN TRABLE IN KHATOURM. WITH CHEPESHI & MKANDAWIRE.
MBOLA & KABASO SHUD HV BEEN INCLUDED TO ROCK OUR WING DEFENCE.
WE WIL BE IN TRABLE COZ DE NORTH AFRICANS LIKES WING PLAY.
FAZ PLIZ DE ISRAELI BASED MBOLA SHUD HV BIN CALLED
I don’t think Boyd Mkandawire can match the physicality of the sudanese attackers, the guy is really small and will strugle with 50-50 situations against the a physical side like Sudan. As for the right back postion,Dauti Musekwa should start ahead of Chepeshi
OK LET US USE MUNTHALI AS A RIGHT BACK & CALL MBOLA TO TAKE THAT LEFT BACK.
THE HATER OF CHISAMBA I KNOW THAT U WIL NOT GIVE HIM 90 MNTS USELESS COACH.
I KNOW U WIL GIVE CHIRWA 90 MNTS & U WIL GIVE CHISAMBA 25 MNTS. PATHETIC COACH WHO TRUST PLUNKS.
NO PROBLEM AS LONG AS HE IS PLAYING 90 MNTS FOR FC URAL HE WIL NOT BE FINISHED
WATCH HIM ON SATADAY HE WIL PLAY ANOTHER 90 MINTS AGAINST ROSTOV.
this coach is pathetic
WELL SAID MR JOHN.
WE WIL BE IN TRABLE WITH MUDATHIR EL TAIB & SARA IBRAHIM COZ OUR DEFENCE IS WEAK.
I am just watching you inspire the attitude of negativity as usual with john as a master mind in the game…
WE NEED PLAYERS WHO CAN HOLD MUDATHIR AL TAHIR, ALAADINE YOUSIF, MOHAMED AHMED BASHIR,& SARA IBRAHIM FOR 90MNTS.
keyz kayz dont just mention players for just inclusion when you even dont know there current status. Lwandamina is prepairing the team for the future, therefore he needs to be consistent in selection of players who are performing at there clubs
SO U MEAN MBOLA IS NOT PEFORMING IN ISAEL?
DOT BE MUD IF U DONT KNOW ANYTHING IN FOOTBALL JUST BE QUIET BRO!
WHAT FUTURE U ARE TALKING ABOUT? U THINK WE ARE HAPPY OF THIS CORRUPTION.
Mbola is an experienced afcom winner for goodness sake! Glad Kangwa was called his been on form but are Chepeshi and Mkandawire going to cop with nominated African player of the contender El Taib and other Sudanese attackers Mr Chicken George? They were very shaky against Kenya and for that got punished against Egypt! If we had better defenders against Egypt it would have been a different scoreline and Sudan is no underdog I tell you looking at how far their clubs go in the Caf Champions league and for one of their players to be contending for the African player of the year along the great Yaya Toure! Be serious and watch out!
Can someone help me understand is Roger Kola in Greece or Isreal. Coz I read different reports. Coz I also read on this site that he’s in Belgium.
He was at Gent in Belgium two years ago but it now seems he’s in Israel.
I agree with @Scotch and others. Mbola and Kabaso should be called to the team. The Sudanese are rugged especially when they playing at home. We need experienced chaps at the back.
I feel Kola needs to be looked at. Bring in and see what he can do.
abram how old r u????
My fellow fans, Sudan play like Egypt who humered us 3 zero b 4 the Mozambique game. Chipeshi and mkandawire failed to match the Egyptian. That is the strategy Sudan will use to wire us at their back yard. Plz faz, if u think of beating Sudan call mbola and any other right back defender like choongo kabaso, nkausu. Musekwa sometimes he misses the ball but he is also good. Our wing defenders need to be fit not paper weight.
@NICOBLEZZ @Simwinga.
I understand your points my fellow fans But what you should understand also is that we will be playing formidable sides in the WC qualifying games. Teams like Sudan who are not walk overs like Kenya were we were experimenting on the wing backs with Nchepeshi and M’kandawile. In a game they were both exposed and especially Nchepeshi who looked lost completely which lead for him to be replaced. These guys needs to be playing in Cosafa or tournaments like the one in Angola for them to gain confidence and improve as a National Team Material NOT in BIG games were the experience of the so called bench warmers is very vital. Remember that Kennedy Mweene is also a bench warmer and why are you not calling for him to be omitted. Kabaso Chongo and Emmanuel Mbola have both enough experience to deal with any attack on there good day despite them not been good enough for these positions But we have no one better than them at the moment, so the game is in a week or so let’s call our best players to fight for us not experimenting in tough games then forget about going to the WC.
@Chindika
Roggers Kola is in Greece on loan from Israel side Iron Kurt…. FC
He plays for Veira FC in the Greek super league and he is doing fine at the moment even scores goals
@ PARADOX IM 42 YEARS OLD.
You are still a young not even in your mid forties…..so please leave room for us who waiting to retire.
tukawine elyo nkofwe umuntu
Kikikikikikiki, ine dead ! hahahahahah!
The South Americans are not really big in stature but they in most circumstances outdo most of the huge opponents! this nonsense of stature and strength is a scape-goat to hurl insults at the coaching staff. Most Chipolopolo players from time immemorial have had carried small to medium sized bodies but alas they with their assumed inabilities have had to overcome their foes with skills. The negative and naïve folk will ever remain armchair critics.
BUT I STARTED FOOLOWING ZAMBIANFOOTBALL WHEN I WAS 12 YEARS.
I suppose in 1984 or 1985 We used to play behind the goal posts of the then Dag stadium and watch Kajiya and Kawilo train that time Ndola united was a good team including strike rover whose Peter Chikwempe put Kalusha Bwalya on crutches, We used to have books stuck with times and daily mail pictures of soccer stars…… Please respect the coach and criticise objectively.
@ TRUTH SERENIKO TWIKALO,EVEN IF U ARE OLD BUT I CANT LEAVE THIS ROOM COZ I LOVE ZAMBIANFOOTBALL & AT MY AGE U CANT CHEAT ME ON ZAMBIANFOOTBALL, AFRICANFOOTBALL, AS WELL AS WORLD FOOTBALL.
players like Nbola they re not suposed to be omited in muches like the one we re facing on wensday. why is it that always zam fly frm a lake to another lake? the problem is not with the cotches but the soul caled zamfoot. come on can u cal those guys b4 u re disapointed.
You have an attitude of undignified negativity that is somewhat cancerous, I don’t care how much knowledge you have about soccer I am,Hurriedly , not inspired by people whose sentiments are always negative and not building at all.
BEING OLD IT DOSENT MEAN U KNOW EVERY THING, U CAN BECOME OLD & DULL OR IGNORAS.
And your english leaves much to be desired.
No wonder a lot of mishaps in your analyses….
I for one I don’t understand why mbola has been left out can lwandimina and kalu be serious with team selection please because this is pathetic to say the truth chipesha and mkandiwire we are in trouble
WHT IT MATERS IS HW MUCH KNOWLEDGE U HV AT YO AGE. THATS WHY PATRICE BEAUMELLE & THAT RWANDA COACH THEIR COACHING BIG TEAMS AT THEIR AGE, BUT U HERE TO ITIMITADING FANS ON ZAMFOOT JUST BCOZ U ARE A OLD MAN BUT WHT I CAN TELL U IS THAT I WIL NOT FEAR U & IM READY TO TAKE U PUNCH TO PUNCH. GO! ZAMBIA GO! ZAMFOOT IS OUR SITE.
I’m glad we can talk about football on this forum and I honestly don’t think anyones opinion is not valid in its own right. We also have to be able to back what we are saying with real arguments because making statements such as useless coach or pathetic coach do not do anything for anyone.
Too much faith is being placed in players like Kabaso Chongo who is not even playing at his club and who has probably only had one or two good games in national team colours. Then there is the question of Fwayo Tembo. He has not played a competitive game of football for 13 months and has finally returned, and just because he scored one goal; we are being led to believe that he will save Zambian football. C’mon guys.
I am not a fan of Chapeshi and Mkandawire because from what I saw those kids are weaknesses and if I know Sudan. They will exploit those weaknesses. Zambia needs to get it together. We need fullbacks, I don’t believe Chongo is the answer, but I will agree that Mbola is a better choice than what we have right now. I also hope that Mweene will be up for the challenge, because he too has become a bench warmer. I hope we get past Sudan, but I am truly scared that we won’t.
Fwayo has scored not one goal but he scored in two games in a row. He is the Quaresma or Prince Boateng if u like of Zambian football. Good player but full of ups and downs in his career but now he’s back with two goals in two games and should be considered.
so ba george is ready 2 throw boyd in da jaws of a crocodile, let us wait nd c maybe another mbola is will image in boyd
I WIL NOT FEAR YO GREY HAIR I WIL STIL CONTRIBUTING ON ZAMFOOT IT OUR SITE & THIS SITE ITS NOT ONLY 4 PEOPLE OF GREY HAIR NO! EVEN YOUTHS CAN CONTRIBUTE. IT IS 4 ZAMBIAN PEOPLE THATS WHY ITS CALLED ZAMFOOT. NOT NKHALAMBA ZOKHA-ZOKHA NO!
Save the queen’s language please – shaaaa!!
I have no single grey hair on my head ifwe tatukota bwangu imfwi shamba muma 70s, white or grey hair is not and will never be a symbol of wisdom… the fear of the most high YAHUWAH is and will ever be!
Are we really serious abt qualifying to th World cup? Its such kind of player selection tht make people believ tht we dnt hv th Talent/Players tht cn qualify us to th World cup. #2018 yakana……. Mayb thr aim is 2022 nowander thy kip on leaving behind experienced performing players n selecting shaky players who cnt handle th pressue.
I here by second KezKez, well said esp on the mweene issue in reponse to kabaso bench warming kudos KezKez, fellow bloggers this sudan is too important to not ingnore the fact chipeshi lacks alot of attributes in defending cutting space, one on one , physical esp experience that was shown in the kenya match aswell as egypt match he was bullied all over and im trying to bring him down but let him learn first period and not tried in WORLD CUP QUALIFIER, like Com on man (Lwandimina)
(not) trying to bring him down, typing error.
Zambian coaches fail to select players on merit i don’t know why!
@ PARADOX IF U WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT ME, IM A LECTURE AT ZAMBIA OPEN UNIVERSITY, IF U WANT I CAN GIVE U MY CONTACT NUMBER. WISHNG U AII DE BEST BIG MAN.
Ummmm, are you really serious or pulling Paradox’s leg? Lecturer with such sentence construction, HOW my brother??????
BaGeorge bigman be serious.
Be brainy use experienced player 4 u to have experience think
I agree with u guys regardless of ur ages n experties on the inclusion of Chepeshi n Mkandawire as wing backs. A lot of supporting facts could be used to ve these youngsters in the national team. But at least let’s be patient a little bit as we ve seen our cries are answered slowly. We had Chepeshi replaced by Dauti Musekwa though we still ve some fans not satisfied with that. For Mkandawire a replacement cld be there BT let’s wait koz not every good player will bring positive influence on the team. Some of these players probably are bad influencers hence not being considered, discipline is cardinal when trying to meet certain objectives. Just like we can criticise but not insult. Lecture Abram use inspiring words to Elder George n others for others to get inspired. Dint ve much chance to watch John Solo but he wasn’t big though slim n active difficult to beat defender Boyd too will due develop n remind us of late Solo Zambia!. The bench should consider MWANSA at power the former nkwazi n nkana defender is equally good. Some defenders too much ama red cards hence affect the game plan e.g Kapumbu n Chongo. these easily make mistake as a result the temple or original game plan shifts. thank u. Viva chipolopolo.
We had good defenders in 2012 yet Sudan thrashed us by 2 nil. Sudan is now very hungry 4 Zambia for running to fifa over an that suspended player they used. Now we have proper defenders to contain them. Don’t expect anything from sudan other than a loss but we can do everything to avoid a white wash.
Fuckson Kapumbu is beta than Boyd by far, boyd is gud at playing nd not marking.
Its a good call but I’m solemnly dissapointed with leaving out Emmanuel Mbola. With me, I think Mbola is the best left back that Zambia has. With his exclusion, Lwandamina should have atleast called Fackson Kapumbu or Rodrick Kabwe, unlike Boyd Mkandawire. Mkandawire has failed for Zambia, and I wonder why Lwanadamina keeps calling him and not forgetting Chepeshi. These boys have failed to hold the fullback positions. Lwandamina should have atleast used Kabaso Chongo as the right fullback despite him being benched at TP Mazembe. I think he would have been a far much better option that Chepeshi. Sudan is not an easy team. We suffered a 2-0 loss in 2012 with the likes of Davies Nkausu. We were just lucky to be awarded points at that time but otherwise, we were completely outplayed. I cant imagine how the tall Sudanese players will outrun our fullbacks. Kabaso Chongo and Emmanuel Mbola would have been better optons.
My request is that let lwandamina choose thoz experienced players like the squad of 2012 with an exception of chris katongo
Zambian fans… Doesn’t the issue of form take into pay in Zambian football? or you want us to go back to the Patrice era of playing names an past glory? Is this a few men team or a national team? Lekeni mukolwe abombe!
it is now noted that defence for chipolopolo is so weak…if we play any attacking team like the case against egypt, and congo drc well its an embarassement and we should prepare the worst of its kind against sudan
As long as the defence remains the same for both left back and right back we will be badly humiliated
Zambia talks too much and sometimes zambia looks exactly like Ghana in 90s and 2000s when we were eager and desperate to qualify to the WC!
How many coaches has zambia had for the past four yrs??
Renard
Beaumelle
Janza
Chicken
Zambia ll never perform to their outermost abilities if they don’t learn to maintain a coach for more than two yrs!
No offense,we need seasoned defenders ie Nkausu,Mbola.
