  1. so ninshi ba Faz tabaishibe ati Tanzania nabakwata friendly with Botswana or zamfoot u’re the one who mislead us with wrong information

  2. ZF deleted my comment for honestly pointing out that kamanga is clueless. as faz president he must have hands on what every football associations program is like. thi is the same useless kamanga that cud not source replica jereys for a tournament that was staged in our backyard. by now we shud have had at least 2 friendlies with high profile teams

  3. Those Tanzanians must have been scared of losing ! anyway, I think we are better off playing an AFCON qualifier in Zimbabwe. It will be a good test. Good to have Mayuka back. I still believe there is something in him, just needs to lose a bit of weight. For Kenneddy, let him have some game time to boost his confidence. I would have liked to see Kola included as well.

  4. Just sharing.

FAZ Rakes In K6 Million From Under-20 Gate Taking

In it’s promise to uphold transparency and accountability, the FAZ administration under Andrew Kamanga has announced it raised about K6 million from gate taking of the recently held Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Zambia Daily Mail sports desks which ironically never published anything to do with gate takings from the previous executive, carries a banner headline announcing the cash galore.

The state newspaper quotes FAZ Treasurer Rix Mweemba confirming that the figure raised from the touranment stood at K6, 372, 472 million against an expenditure of K4, 202, 400.

“We would like first of all to thank our patron and Republican President Edgar Chagwa Lungu for his support. We are humbled. The turn out by supporters was excellent. We are grateful. Without the involvement of supporters and other stakeholders the tournament would not have been a success.

“From the K6, 372, 472 million that we have raised, we are paying Zambia Police, Red Cross, Fire Brigade and many others that rendered their support towards the hosting of the tournament,” Mweemba said.

For the last eight years, gate takings were treated as a state secret by FAZ. The executive committee that administered the body the last years had been accused of sharing gate takings shortly after an international match was played.

This have dramatically changed since Andrew Kamanga was elected FAZ president. Two officials one of whom served the previous executive – vice-president Richard Kazala and Blackwell Siwale – are currently suspended pending expulsion for tampering with gate takings for the match between Zambia and Nigeria last October.

The article you have posted about Faz making a K2m profit Is hoax.
Gross revenue from Africa cup gate takngs = K 6 m.
      Stadium expanses = K 4 m.
      Hoax profit = K 2m.

      Total expenses @ Afcon = K 30 m.
Is this a profit or loss mr pungwa

  5. Zimbabwa is a better oponent than tanzania atlest the have some good players that we know like khama billiat of sundown tendai ndaro of orlando pirate, knowlege musona in belgian this is the kind of a friendly that we were talking about

    • So did your daddy Kalu organize this friendly now? Were you not b!tching the other day over Tanzania? I now see your tail wiggling, but you fail to praise Kamanga even though you are happy as f#ck that we have a better opponent. Typical clueless hypocrite you are. Not surprised by all means.

  6. Too much of the same. We need to play teams we are not very familiar with to gauge our team better. I feel playing teams that we are very familiar with provides very little in terms of coaching challenges as we already know what to expect from a familiar opponent like Zimbabwe.

  7. @LOGIC, I think in this case, its a question of better than nothing. It looks like we have to learn to plan ahead for these freindlies. It looks like we were caught off guard on this one and we quickly had to look for some team to play, but I am very confident Kamanga, Ponga and company will get round to securing these frendlies well in advance. Pole pole the screws are tightening in their management.

    • Iwe Grand, are you that dull? budget vs total expense/income are 2 different things. And where does it say that the K30 mil budget was all to be from gate takings? You are either clueless of what you are arguing about or plain damn to actually even have a grasp of how budgeting vs income/expenditures work. Again let me rephrase that for you, K30 was what was set aside(also know as budgeted for the tournament) Whether the stadiums would have been empty or not, this is what Faz/government had put aside to meet all the obligations that goes with facilitating the u-20 teams to play the matches. The 6 million realized from gate takes will easy some pressure on that K30 million budget meaning we don’t have to use more from that budget because we some of this money from the gate takings. I know some of the Kalu cadres will bring up not paying the plays or what not, Kamanga said players will be paid, not that FAZ don’t have the money to pay the players.

      • @ T C soccerman,

The following are the facts you can get

K30 m was spent for hosting of u20 afcon.
K6m was the total revenue from all the matches

Faz would have done better on the commercial aspect, eg when zambia played Ghana in the world cup qualifyer faz made K4m in gate talkings. Now during afcon in more than 10 matches they only made K6m.
        What a lost opportunity …
Only street vendors made money from this afcon not Faz and the government.

Second string of revenue was suppose to come from kit manufacturer, but we went into the tournament without a contract with Kappa, so we cant get anything from them.
        What a lost opportunity. ?
        The list is endless
