The Chipolopolo have arrived in Moscow ahead of Tuesday’s international friendly match with Russia at the VTB Arena.
Coach Avram Grant says his squad is upbeat despite some notable absentees due to injuries and travel challenges from some destinations.
The team arrived at around 10:00 hours local time and are due for their first training session later in the evening.
Grant says the squad is largely the same that qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations amidst several injury problems.
The Chipolopolo will use the game against Russia to remain active after their opponents in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers Eritrea and Congo Brazzaville withdrew and were suspended respectively.

FAZ IS RIGHT and that’s why Fifa have not said anything. Let’s not join hypocriticals in the conflict between Russian and Ukraine. Russian is only banned to play in EUFA which is the body they subscribe to, Fifa suspended them to participate in world cup qualifiers because base on the body they under. They are not under CAF, so they allowed to play. Politics and football must not mixed that’s the hypocrisy Fifa and EUFA showed to the world. Gaza has been under attack and children are still dying but Fifa did not ban Israel. So in short let’s us focus on sports and leave politics alone for the sake of the limited knowledge we have between those two countries involved. I am not in support of people dying and that’s why I was so excited when Trump won the elections because soon peace will prevail in Unkrane. Unlike continuing to fight in the name of defending Ukraine. I submit.
