Chipolopolo eye Egypt scalp

The Zambia National Team will be eying a win when they take on the Pharaohs of Egypt this afternoon in the United Arab Emirates.

The Copper Bullets and the Pharaohs of Egypt will square off this evening at the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in the United Arab Emirates.

Midfield ace Emmanuel Banda says the game is important for the Chipolopolo Boys to gauge themselves ahead of important assignments ahead.

Banda says the team will target a win to boost their confidence and that they are not intimidated by the stars of Egypt led by Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah.

“Very important high profile friendly match against the Egyptians and we expect a very good game. It will help us gauge how good we are at the moment. So we are really looking forward to this kind of friendly game,” Banda said.

“I think the fact that we have played together for sometime as a team it’s important for us, we have gelled more , we understand each other more, we will try to improve on our weaknesses, now we are more of a team.”

“We have to take it as a must win game. We will go out there, play our hearts out and get the win. We need the wins to get the confidence.

“There is nothing intimidating in football anymore. We are all eleven and play the same football. We all have good players. We will all bring our A so it will be interesting to see how it pans out after 90 minutes,” he added.

Meanwhile captain of the side Lubambo Musonda says the match is important because it will help them prepare for the AFCON and the World Cup qualifiers.

“It’s important to the team because we are preparing for the World Cup qualifiers and the AFCON in January so we are looking forward to that,” he said.

“We need to continue with the rhythm we had in the AFCON qualifiers. We have to continue to win.”

“Yes they will come with their stars but we have a team that wants to fight on the pitch and give everything, that’s enough for us,” he added.
