Chipolopolo, Egypt friendly falls through

Zambia’s international friendly against Egypt has fallen off due to the North Africans’ engagements with other teams.

The Chipolopolo were initially scheduled to face Egypt on September 6 at Ndola’s Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

Zambia take on Kenya on the 3rd of September in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier formality match after the Chipolopolo were booted out of the qualifiers following a loss to Guinea Bissau.

Zambia’s hope of glory lie in qualifying to the 2018 Russia World Cup which will see them play Nigeria on  October 1, 2016.

The Football Association of Zambia FAZ was hoping to use the friendly match and the Kenya match to help the new coach who will be appointed kick start the building process of the Chipolopolo.

FAZ is currently discussing personal terms with South African Gordon Igesund who will takeover as Chipolopolo coach.

  1. ponga and akamanga have failed they should have indicated the terms in the application already unlike to lengthen the process this is why egypt is refusing to play us because we have fallen from grace .
