Zambia has fallen one place on the FIFA Coca-Cola World Ranking to stand on position 99 in the world.
The latest ranking leaves the Chipolopolo Boys in 25th position in Africa.
The Chipolopolo have played 12 games in he last 12 months and have only managed two wins against Lesotho and Uganda and drawing four times in all competitions.
Coach Wedson Nyirenda will be looking to change the dismal statistic when his team faces 86th placed Gabon and Mozambique next week.
While Zambia is ranked 25 in Africa, World Cup qualifiers opponents Cameroon and Nigeria are 3rd and 4th respectively while Algeria is 10th in Africa.
Zambia’s AFCON opponents; Namibia and Mozambique are 23rd and 27th respectively while Guinea Bissau is a place below the 2012 African Champions on 26.
Meanwhile CHAN opponents, Swaziland are ranked 21 on the continent, thus four places above the Wedson Nyirenda coached Chipolopolo side.

so ati rankings are rubbish. zamfoot bloggers are some of the most disillusional i know. wat happens if u dont win yo games? u drop in rankings. between 94 and 96 we were ranked 1st in africa. back then we won every game. real prestige in football comes from seniour footbal. not under twenty. we cant loose focus on the senior team. under twenties may perform better because they have more time to blend. senior football is competitive. at that level every team brings the best. thats why we canot beat germany say 5 years from now with the same teams. point iam making, lets focus all attention on the seniour team. that shud include hiring a proper coach. wada wada is a useless coach.
We need to play more games and win them to gain points. our competitors are playing two freindlies over FIFA dates, we are still doing one, this is drawing us down. That cancleed freindly was a mistake. we need to up our arrangements, but still so far so good abena Kamanga, lets just get to two game over fifa days.
For once I agree with you STUMPY.
Wow, I didn’t know it was that bad.!Surely, we’re ranked lower than Namibia and Mozambique!??
Player choice at senior level is very puzzling. Senior team is not a place for experiments. Have your designated team albeit a few adjustments to mitigate injuries or one or two inclusions.
The big problem is the choice of players who are not performing at club level. ..bench warmers.
Play James Chamanga, play the top goal scorer on your local league in Walter Bwalya…start finding a replacement for mweene…Jacob Mulenga?
Start winning matches. Don’t tell us your aim is not the World Cup. Atase!
Tell us the under 20 ranking please.
That doesn’t count baba.
