Chipolopolo clinch friendly against Elephants of Ivory Coast

The Zambia national team will play Herve Renard’s Ivory Coast on the 25th of October as part of the 50th Independence Jubilee celebrations.

FAZ has clinched the international friendly which is expected to help the national team prepare for the final qualifiers for the 2015 Morocco Africa Cup of Nations which will be played in November.

FAZ has stated that Ivory Coast will feature a strong team despite the game being played on a non official FIFA calendar date.

The two teams last met in the final of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.

FAZ has also announced that the national team will play another game on the 24th October against either Botswana, Namibia or Kenya.

The games will be played at the Heroes stadium in Lusaka.

  1. So Zambia will feature teams B and C since 24th & 25th are doesnt fall on fifa internationer days. IC also will not feature a stronger side coz they will also use locally based players. The game will only bring memories of how Zambia hammered IC 3 nil in Abijan in the opening game of 2008 CHAN.
