Indeni head coach Mwenya Chipepo was left happy with his players’ tactical response in the Oilo men’s 1-1 draw against Nkana on Saturday.
Nkana took the led through Alex ‘Bazo’ Ng’onga from a Lyson Thole assist before Indeni could equalize through Lawrence Mwenge in the 79th minute to rescue a point at Trade Fairground.
“We allowed Nkana to dominate in the first half of the game resulting in my boys failing to even pass around the ball as our midfield chased shadows. The early goal also contributed as we panicked to recover,” Chipepo said
Coach Chipepo made two important substitutions which he described as tactical to add more numbers in attack for the team which paid off including the coming on of goal scorer Lawrence Mwenge.
“For us to get a goal we needed more numbers in midfield to have more options going forward thus we had to change the approach. Luckily it worked to our advantage and a goal came through.”
Rumors and speculations have linked Chipepo to the Power Dynamos top job but he quickly stated that his relationship with Indeni is good and maintains his services to the club.
“Those are just rumors and speculations which have no impact on me as I have a running contract with Indeni and that’s the only comment,” Chipepo told the ZamFoot Crew.
