Chilumba: Our objective is to play continental football

Kabwe Warriors coach Tennant Chilumba has revealed that his side is targeting playing continental football come August.

Chilumba was speaking after Warriors played to a goalless draw with Red Arrows at Nkoloma Stadium this afternoon.

” Of course we are looking to play continental football, that’s our objective,” he said.

Chilumba believes his team can maintain their current momentum with a little hard work.

“We just have to continue working hard to maintain this momentum and am happy with the concentration of the boys. We play Lusaka dynamos next who are just behind us and are a very tactical side,” he said.

Kabwe Warriors have not suffered a single loss in the first half of the season and are hoping to continue on that path to make sure they play continental football.

Warriors are the only team that has not yet tested defeat and sit second in Stream A with 17 points, Three short of log leaders Zanaco.

  1. I am a Warriors supporter. there is nothing strange about the position where our team is.
This has always been the tradition at KWFC, since the 1970’s.
They lead the log in the first one third.
Then in the second third of the season they start drawing all their games. In the last third and by the end of the season they have lost all their games and are struggling against relegation.
I see this pattern beginning to emerge, and to think continental is allowed but there is still a long way to go following our teams tradition.
So far so good and congratulations.
