Zambia Under Twenty coach Hector Chilombo is saddened by Zambia’s exit from the 2015 Senegal Africa Youth Championships “despite having played so well”.
Speaking to journalists at Caroline Faye stadium in Senegal, Chilombo said the loss was painful especially that Zambia had taken command of the game and managed to score as early as the second minute through Dave Daka.
“I am very disappointed what would have been our second goal was disallowed. It is painful to exit in such a way” Chilombo said.
The coach is however happy that the talent exhibited by the boys is a true testimony that Zambia has a bright future.

It is not a surprise, even Senior National Team when they score first they always end up being beaten.
Loser
I wont be surprised if Zambia ends up losing against South Africa. When ever zambia is drawn in a group with Ghana, they always focus their energy, time and resources om Ghana forgetting they have to get points from other teams to qualify. Beating Ghana alone wouldnt have qualified zambia. I am sure zambia was about playing Mali they were not concentrating on Mali game but was thinking about how to beat Ghana and ended up losing both games. I was surprised to see the zambian player being that physical,Bigger in stature(if not over age)and very rough in play.My advise to my zambia brothers is to refrain from being to obsessed with Ghana and focus their attention on other teams when it comes to any tourney in same group with Ghana.
Those Boys are the future of Zambian football. Its just a Shame our ‘big players’ going into the tournament larry and Spencer did not perform to our expectations. but there were some some performances on the day. Zanaco’s Charles Zulu. Benson Sakala And Central Defensive Partnership of Alex Mwamba and Kapota Kayawe. if we Were given a Different Feferee we would defeated Ghana Yesterday
U are talking like a child. Is it the first time your team is playing football?Or is it your first time u r watching football? Then brace yourself cos worst things happen in football.
Pile up the excuses & u will be awarded the 3 pts in 2017.
that’s true
It is very sad to the core centre of my heart.nowadays kuti ulitina to check what is posted pa zamfoot..deeply dishearting and shameful.GOD help us
This most really be a sad time for zambia youth football meeting Nigeria and ghana at each level in this 2015. U-17 Nigeria, U-20 Ghana and again the upcoming U-23 game against Nigeria. It must really be annoying, but guys you don’t need to hate the whole of west africa bcos of the combo of Nigeria and Ghana.
And then the coach will tell us that it was a nice learning experience. When are we going to graduate from learning to practicing what we learnt. Our football teams have really embarrassed us and FAZ should be reorganized. We can not continue doing things the same old way and expect good results. This embarrassing performance by our juniors will truly affect us for next three to four years, so, countrymen, don’t expect any positive results from our seniors in the near future. Our juniors have shown us what our future will be like. So, please dear FAZ councilors, reorganization should start from FAZ and the way its run
France star Olivier Dacourt picks Flying Eagles
Former France international Olivier Dacourt has said Nigeria’s Flying Eagles are the team who have most impressed him after a first round of matches at the AYC.
The Flying Eagles beat hosts Senegal 3-1 to get their campaign underway on Sunday.
“Nigeria have stood out for me as a team, they play collectively,” said former Inter Milan and Roma star Dacourt, who is now a TV pundit for Eurosport and Tf1.
“I watched them beat Senegal even though their goalkeeper had to make three big saves. Their players are all on the same level.”
However, he said he believes the host nation could still stage a comeback and win the tournament.
“It is now difficult for them after they lost their opening match in front of their fans, but we have also seen a team like Spain lose their first match to Switzerland and still go on to win the 2010 World Cup,” he argued.
Wait till we meet at the finals and Ghana ll beat them!!
It doesn’t matter how many goals they have scored, Ghana and naija matches doesn’t follo form guard!
European clubs chase Flying Eagles stars
Several Flying Eagles stars led by striker Taiwo Awoniyi are being chased by top European clubs on the back of their superb showing at the AYC in Senegal.
“Flying Eagles players are now hot cake among the many scouts and clubs in Senegal,” a top source informed AfricanFootball.com
Taiwo Awoniyi is the most wanted Flying Eagles star and it is understandable as he is the leading scorer in the tournament with three goals and has scooped two CAF Man of the Match awards thus far.
He has a growing number of suitors from top clubs in Portugal and France.
However, the snag is that he has signed a pre-contract with modest Swedish side Kalmar.
His representatives are expected in Senegal in the new week with the hope of firming up a contract for the 17-year-old player from Imperial Academy in Nigeria.
Ifeanyi Matthew is another Nigeria U20 star who has caught the eye of top European clubs.
The El Kanemi Warriors attacking midfielder has scored twice and provided three assists as the Flying Eagles romped into the semifinals of the AYC in style.
Clubs in France, Italy, Norway and Belgium have also cast their dragnet on Akinjide Idowu, skipper Musa Muhammed and left-back Mustapha Abdullahi.
But can I really blame the european clubs running after the talented naija players.. No because the the is too fantabulous…..
Zambians don’t worry the combine force of Nigeria and. Ghanian fans against ur team is over for now… The new chapter is Ghana vs Nigeria. Don’t worry we will defeat ghana for you guys, that will be our small gift/compensation for you.
I love u badosqui but we r beating Nigeria..
my frends from Ghana and naija. am sure u r having so much fun on this site mocking and insulting us. our humble request is that u now leave us in peace. allow us to properly recover and lick our deep wounds. please go back to your respective soccersites ie nairaland sport and that barren wasteland called called Ghanasoccernet. so please go away.
Shut the hell up, u SILLY ROGUE!
Your disfigured face like PATRICK PATSON KLUIVERT DAKA BOOTS haha
yo face like a babboon’s red back side. keep a distance from yo phone. I can smell yo stench
Now that u gave been chased out from the west African sites, u are “begging” us to leave? No. The nature of the game is that we shall be here till Mumbi becomes sensible (which is very far away). Advise your comrade first, else WE SHALL BE HERE TILL THE KINGDOM COMES.
some low minded ghanain thinks that u tamed me. no ways I changed becoz I created a bad image abt myself amongy fellow countrymen. so my decision was to changed for the better
I have to admit that the old men of Zambia really made things difficult for the young Ghanains yesterday. Zambia should have gone ahead and bring their full national Team since most of the players who played yesterday are of same age with Mbesuma(Head Master), Katongo brothers. Sunzu(a good defender but lack of education caused him to make a bad choice),Sinkala and Mayuka.
idiotic minds from black Satanist bloggers are busy condemning our Zambia nation teams forgetting that the stupid satanic referees from west wasteful Africa are killing African football, idiots criminals
U are a big moron!!
Ghana equalizing goal was perfect! Zambian was caught ball watching bcos a Ghanaian player was lying on the turf but in association football, u play to the full whistle of the ref!!
If the ref hasn’t stop play, u continue!!!
The zambian players were also complaining abt the second thinking it was offside but am not surprised becasue that’s how AMATEURISH FOOTBALL NATION THINKS!
Ghana was just like Zambia bf but we have learn from those mistakes!
Selfmad, u have started your madness again. If u want war here, let us go to gsn and I will finish u completely.
Hard luck for Hector Chilombo, but this is football and we move forward. There are big lessons learned from this tournament that will be critical to Zambias success in the next tournament. Preparation is key. There is an under 17 team that was baptized by fire aswell and maybe some youngsters in this team who might still be under 20 come 2017. Lets build on that and actually try to prepare the national team. Lets not wait till 2016 to start preparing, FAZ should sit down and put together a program now.
why do this guys say that they would have qualify if the referee had accepted the goal? would it not have been draw? so how can you qualify with 1 point? you suck..you would have defended the referee if that decision was for you.wait as naija dream team smash your u23 as well
iTS LIKELY GOING TO BE ALL WEST AFRICAN SEMI FINALS. ZAMBIA WILL NOT TRY TO QUALITY TO WIN THIS NOW. THEY WILL WAIT TILL ANOTHER AND COME SAYING GHAN WON IT WHEN IT WAS ONLY 8TEAMS. THE QUESTION IS WHERE WAS ZAMBIA WHEN GHANA WINNING?
In as much as we are headed in the right direction by qualifying to such events we must accept that our local league is extremely weak. Those Ghanaian boys that beat us are locally based meaning our boys are not developing fast enough in our weak league. Zambia has failed to beat any serious team this year losing to Tunisia, guinea, Nigeria, Ghana and Mali. Let’s not comfort ourselves this is disgusting and now getting embarrassing. We need to address this mess first step is to hire a European expatriate at national team level.
First time u have said something sensible. Coming back to ur senses after that loss to Ghana.
Next time during friendlies, play good teams & not Mairitius, Madagascar, Lesotho &Mozambique . Let me tell u one thing: Even with all the rantings on this site, we still love our African brothers of Zambia. Can u love God & hate ur own brother ?
John, to be honest; I don’t think it has to do with hiring an expatriate coach. The junior teams as well as the senior team need real preparation. The U17 played one friendly against SA before going to a major tournament, the same goes for the U20 and senior national team. Zambia won AFCON in 2012 without many European based players. Though, I will agree that the league needs to get stronger and I think we are headed in the right direction. The influx of foreign players will help add another perspective to the local game, but I also think we need to rethink the transfer system. Too many players moving from club to club without any real transfers in the local league is what constantly bites us with trying to export players to Europe.
I feel that even if we hired Mourinho with the same very weak league structures at all levels we can’t win anything. Let us make our leagues more competitive. During the days of ZCCM our soccer leagues especially on the copperbelt were very strong. Each super division team had a B side then the under 18, 14 and 12 and these teams were in action every weekend under the full sponsorship of ZCCM. Since ZCCM is no longer there let us find a way of strengthening our league structures through financial investment from the co-operate world.
zambia played good football than ghana, but the ref was one sided, offside were they isn’t!
Zambia also played better than Mali, also the referee.
why wont you play better than the young ghanaians when you paraded old men instead of youth..ngoma and co..5 players of your team went to afcon when we paraded academy players with few premier league players..
your team have no future with this retired legs.
Zambia always play better than every team. you people only praises mediocrity.the team is to win not to just play better. you lost and that’s it. keep your mouth mute and prepare for the next tourney which you will host. As usual it will still be west Africans affairs.
