Kaizer Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp says he was working around the clock to help Zambian striker Lazarus Kambole realize his potential.
Kambole joined Chiefs at the start of the season after leaving Zambian giants ZESCO United where he had a brilliant three-season (2017,2018 and the 2019 transitional league).
However, Life in Naturena has not been easy for the CAF Champions League fastest hat-trick record holder who has failed to hit the ground running and is yet to school a goal in Amakhosi colors.
“The players are at the center of the methods we are applying. And we ask for feedback, from the experienced and the young players alike,” Middendorp told Kaizerchiefs.com in an interview.
We discussed it and together we looked at various options available – this is different from ‘tell and tell’ on how it should be done. For example, we all know what a good player Lazarus Kambole is and we are working hard to have him show his full potential.
“What is important now is that we all want to become better. That is the understanding of the team and everybody is making a contribution to achieve that,” he added.
Kambole who was on fire for Zesco and boasts of 7 goals for the Copper Bullets in 15 appearances has made 12 appearances for Chiefs but yet to score a goal.

I think he needs more time and also a change of philosophy, kaizer with that Serbian striker are okay but kambole would be a good key if they manage to reach the champions league as a squad rotation player since they are many games in South African teams in there calender and so many cups
With all due respect, at what point do we say the player has failed in this league and he should go and rejuvenate himself in another league? He is a prolific striker no doubt but the PSL has just not worked out for him.
