The reality of having teams in the super division from Livingstone may be a far fetched dream to many people, but for coach Bupe Chewe believes this dream can be turned into Reality.
This morning in Livingstone zamfoot crew sat down with the former maramba starts coach Bupe Chewe and this is what he had to say regarding his stay at maramba stars last season and what he hopes to archive with Livingstone pirates come this season.
“It was a fantistic season though we failed to achieve our dream to win promotion to super league. But the impact we brought to zone four league is something any coach can be proud of.The competition was very high and the derbies were very competitive and we attracted huge crowds and the fan base for maramba stars spread like wild fire.Am proud to say I was part of maramba stars for two seasons and it was a fantistic seasons ”
This year will be my eightful(8) year in coaching and my highlight was in 2017 when maramba stars won promotion to division one.Coaching is all about titles and that was my best achievement so far.Since I started coaching in 2012 I have been progressing,I started coaching in LIDAFA then coached in SPAFA,moved to division 3 then to division 2 then now in division one I think this is an achievement on its own.division 2 faz teams and in 2018 I won coach of the year for faz zone four teams he said.
He further added that
Pirates is a big club that has high demands in terms of results. At the end of the season everyone expects to see livingstone pirates in the super league and its very possible. This is what we have been discussing with the players its high time we give ourselves to the club.We really need to have that desire within ourselves to succeed and win promotion to the super league.
Chewe has won various awards, the recent one was last year he was named coach of the year for FAZ zone four teams at the Livingstone sports Awards which were held on the 21st December 2018.
