Chembo admits performance was below par

One of Zambia’s representatives in the 2019/20 CAF Confederation Cup Buildcon Football Club were booted out of the Competition yesterday after drawing 1:1 with Young Buffaloes of Eswatini.

Buildcon who came in as new entrants in the CAF inter-Club Competition under the interim Coach Tenant Chembo who admitted that his team’s performance was below par.

“Am very disappointed that we lost because this is a game that we would have wrapped in the first half had we had taken our chances because we created a lot of chances, but that’s how it is in football if you miss chances you lose,” he said.

“The overall picture of the game was very much disappointing because of the chances that we missed at this level we are playing at full professionals we must learn to finish when you create chances,” he added.

Chembo Congratulated young Buffaloes for progressing to the next round of the Competition citing that their experience will be a factor going forward.

“A competition can go either way for them to sail through, they have been playing together for quite some time despite them being eliminated in the first round in the past seasons but now they have the morale and confidence to sail through,” he said.

The Ndola side lost 2:1 on Aggregate and will now shift focus to concentrate on their first game in 2019/2020 Campaign in the Zambian Premier League, They travel to Kabwe to face newcomers KYSA.
