Thirteen Time Zambia Super League Champions, Nkana Football club collected maximum points against provincial rivals Zesco United in a week seven of the MTN Superleague match played at Nkana Stadium in Kitwe on Saturday.
Despite collecting three points Nkana football club head coach Beston Chambeshi told the ZamFoot crew that the game was not easy because the Ndola-based side put up a good performance.
“We wanted a win and we got it although it was not an easy game because Zesco United gave us a tough game, am happy with the way the defenders and goalkeeper kept a clean sheet today,” he said.
He added that the win was good especially for the fans who are now back in the stadium: it’s a good present to the supporters who have come at the right time when the team is fighting for points because when you are at home you need the twelfth player and they have shown that they are behind us.”
The win took the Wusakile based side to 5th on the log with 10 points while the defeat was ZESCO United’s second of the season.
Team ya Ziko is seventh with 9 points after playing five games so far this season.
