Chalwe off to FIFPro Congress

-LIVINGSTONE, ZAMBIA: Footballers and Allied Workers Union of Zambia (FAWUZ) Chairperson Linos Chalwe has confirmed that he will be in company of a bevy of the game’s erstwhile revered stars and Footballers Union bosses set to Converge in Zimbabwe for the annual FIFPro Africa Division Congress that bursts into life tomorrow.

The Footballers Union of Zimbabwe (FUZ) will for the first time play hosts to this year’s congress, which runs from Tomorrow to Saturday in Victoria falls town.

CAF deputy general-secretary Anthony Baffoe and Cameroon legend Geremi Njitap headlines the delegates expected in Zimbabwe for the indaba that is key to the welfare of professional footballers across the continent, reports the Herald Newspaper.

Mr.Linos Chalwe confirmed to ZamFoot that him and M.s Sandra Kumwenda are FAWUZ delegates travelling to Zimbabwe tomorrow, adding that he was looking forward to the agenda of the congress.

“FAWUZ will be attending the fifpro Africa division congress,” he said.

“Myself Linos Chalwe and Sandra Kumwenda will be FAWUZ delegates travelling. We are looking forward to the Africa Division Congress and agenda.”

The Herald Newspaper reports that Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) and Premier Soccer League officials are also expected to grace the opening ceremony of the congress tomorrow after which the delegates would go into closed door sessions.

And Chalwe revealed that later this year FIFPro will have a World congress which FAWUZ is also scheduled to attend.
