Catherine Musonda to start in goal

Kazakhstan based goalkeeper Catherine Musonda is expected to start between the sticks this morning when Zambia take on Costa Rica in their final group game.

Coach Bruce Mwape is expected to make at least one change to his team with Musonda expected to return between the sticks.

Eunice Sakala stepped up in the absence of Musonda in the Copper Queens second game of the tournament.

The Nkwazi Queens goalkeeper made some brilliant saves despite the 5-0 scoreline against Spain after taking over the reins in goal.

Musonda was sent off in the opening game against Japan for a second bookable offence.

Defender Lushomo Mweemba is fit and ready to play hence she is expected to partner Agnes Musesa.

In Midfield, Coach Bruce Mwape confirmed that Susan Bansa is okay after limping off in the game against Spain and could start alongside Evarine Susan Katongo and Ireen Lungu.

Upfront skipper Barbra Banda is expected to lead the attack alongside Spain based forward Rachel Kundananji.

The Copper Queens and Costa Rica will go head to head in their final 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup Group C match this morning.

Kick-off at the Waikato stadium will be 09h00CAT, live on SuperSport and TopStar.
