CAF Women’s Champions League: Green Buffaloes off to Morocco

COSAFA Champions Green Buffaloes Women Football Club are off to Morocco for the 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League which kicks off this weekend.

The team left Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in Lusaka at 21h35 aboard an Emirates Airline flight. 

Haalubono has named a strong 23 member squad for the trip with Ireen Lungu, the female Computer leading the squad. 

Other notable players on the squad include young forward Natasha Nanyangwe, Copper Queens defenders Lushomo Mweemba, Agness Musesa and Martha Tembo. 

New acquisitions Jessy Zulu, Maweta Chilenga, Esther Siamfuko and Lilian Mwaba have all made the squad.

Charles Haalubono’s lasses are in Group A alongside hosts ASFAR, Simba Queens SC (Tanzania) and Determine Girls (Liberia), with their opening fixture against Determine Girls set for 30th October at Moulay Hassan stadium in Rabat. 

The CAF Women’s Champions League will kick-off on 30 October 2022 with the final scheduled for 13 November 2022.
