CAF WCL: Ireen Lungu named the player of the match

Green Buffaloes star midfielder Ireen ‘Xavi’ Lungu was named as the player of the match on Sunday evening after helping the Zambia army sponsored outfit to a 4-0 win over Determine Girls in their opening game of the 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League.

Lungu was at her amazing best as she controlled the match and dictated the tempo of the match at the Stade Moulay Hassan in Rabat.

Lungu set up Maweta Chilenga for the opener with a defense splitting pass in the 8th minute.

She went on to assist Natasha Nanyangwe for the second goal in the 30th minute after having a goal chopped off by VAR in the 18th minute.

Lungu also set up Hellen Chanda for her goal a minute after doing so for Nanyangwe in similar fashion.

Lungu then had a goal in the 58th minute which was later classified as an own goal, a dominant performance from the female Computer.

Lungu simply picked up where she left off in the local league where she has started the new season like a house on fire scoring in all the three games, Buffaloes have played.

Buffaloes’ next match will be against tournament hosts ASFAR who edged Simba Queens 1-0 on Wednesday, 2nd November at 21h00.
