CAF WCL COSAFA Qualifiers: Copper Queens foursome back on club duty with Green Buffaloes 

Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club foursome of defenders Lushomo Mweemba, Agness Musesa, Esther Siamfuko and Anita ‘Ba Sue’ Mulenga have started training. 

The four were part of the Copper Queens contingent in New Zealand for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. 

Lushomo Mweemba and Agnes Musesa made a central defensive partnership and played in all three games  while Esther Siamfuko was on standby. 

Anita on the other hand was the team’s equipment manager.

The players were part of Green Buffaloes training session on Monday at Unilus Silverest Campus pitch. 

Buffaloes are preparing for the 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League| COSAFA Qualifiers which will be staged in Durban, South Africa from August 30th to September 8th.

The Zambian Champions will start their campaign with a tricky encounter against Double Action Ladies of Botswana on 30th August.

The Defending Champions have been paired with Double Action, Ntopwa FC of Malawi and Lesotho Defense Force in Group A. 

Buffaloes will then clash with Ntopwa FC on 1st September before concluding their group matches on the 4th of September against Lesotho Defense Force, all their matches will take place at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium. 

The semi-finals will take place on the 6th with the final and the third and fourth will take place two days later.

Only the club that wins this year’s qualifier will advance to the continental competition, which is scheduled to be held in the Ivory Coast from November 5-19.
