COSAFA Champions, Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club will be looking to continue where they left off on Sunday when they take on hosts Association’s Sports of Forces Armed Royal women (AS FAR Rabat) this afternoon.
The Zambian Champions will square off with the host club at the Stade Prince Heritier Moulay El Hassan in Rabat with the kick off set at 21:00hrs.
Buffaloes thrashed Determine Girls 4-0 in their opening match while AS FAR edged Simba Queens 1-0.
AS FAR are participating in their second CAF WCL tournament having finished third at the inaugural 2021 CAF Women’s Champions League.
They are record 13 time Moroccan Women’s Championship winners and have won the last seven Moroccan top- flight titles beginning in 2015-16.
They Have won the Moroccan top- flight in 9 of the last ten seasons beginning in 2013 have only failed to win in 2015 in this run which means they are a formidable side.
They are record 8 times winners of the Moroccan Throne Cup.
Buffaloes are also giants in Zambia Women football winning back to back National League titles.
Coach Charles Haalubono’s side also boast of a whole host of Copper Queens players.
Midfielder Ireen Lungu, the female Computer was in fantastic form on Sunday as she was involved in all four goals.
Coach Haalubono is expected to maintain the team that played in the opening match.
Aisha Mbwana is expected to maintain her place between the sticks with Lushomo Mweemba, Martha Tembo, Agness Musesa and Maylan Mulenga making up the back four.
Ireen Lungu is expected to be joined in midfield by Joana Benaya and Judith Zulu with Hellen Chanda leading the attack alongside Natasha Nanyangwe and Maweta Chilenga.
