CAF CL: Power to leave for Johannesburg this morningĀ 

Zambia Super League Champions, Power Dynamos will this morning leave for South Africa to kickoff their CAF Champions League adventure. 

Abayellow will leave for Johannesburg in two batches with the first group leaving at 06:30 and the other group two hours and half later.

The team had their final training session at Arthur Davies Stadium on Tuesday ahead of the trip. 

“On Wednesday, August 16, 2023, the team departs for Johannesburg, South Africa to begin their Confederation of African Football (CAF) campaign as they battle it out with the AFrican Stars of Namibia.

The first group leaves Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport at 06:30 hours, whilst the second group leaves at 09:00 hours.”

Power will look to shake off their Charity Shield 3-1 loss at the hands of Forest Rangers while their opponents played to a goalless draw with CAF Confederation Cup bound FC MUZA. 

The Zambian champions will face African Stars FC of Namibia in the preliminary round of CAF Champions League.

Should the Kitwe giants navigate past African Stars over two-legged then they will date East Africa in a showdown against Simba SC.

First preliminary round first leg fixtures will be played on Saturday August 19th, 2023 at the Volkswagen Dobsonville Stadium. 

Mwenya Chipepo’s side will then home at Arthur Davies Stadium a week later in the return leg.

The preliminary second round first leg fixtures are scheduled for September 15-16 while the second legs will be played on September 29-20, 2023.
