Beby Onka Musangala could make his CAF Champions League debut this afternoon as Power Dynamos host African Stars of Namibia.
Musangala was not part of the trip to South Africa where the Zambian Champions lost 2-1 away at the Dobsonville Stadium.
Musangala joined Abayellow from Trident FC but his move was only rectified this week following a transfer standoff with Trident FC.
The Congolese winger is one of the most exciting talents in the Zambian League and is expected to play a key role for coach Mwenya Chipepo’s side.
Musangala is part of Chipepo’s squad for this afternoon’s match.
Beby, won the National League championship with Trident and was named Club player of the season.
He was also named 2022/23 ABSA Cup player of the tournament after earning back-to-back man of the match awards.
The 21 year old was in scintillating form for the National Division One Champions.
Last season’s Golden boot winner Andy Boyeli will lead the attack for the 1991 African Cup Winners’ Cup Champions.
Goalkeeper Lawrence Mulenga is likely to be retained in goal with Kondwani Chiboni, former Kabwe Warriors defender Dominic Chanda, Faustin Bakodila and John Soko making the back four.
Musangala could be joined in the middle of the park by Salulani Phiri and Owen Tembo.
Meanwhile their opponents African Stars coached by Ghanian Prince-George Koffie have assembled a cocktail of players including former NAPSA Stars’ man Joseph Lungu who shows up for the Namibians.
Former Lusaka Dynamos winger Willy Stephanus is also part of the team and scored in the first leg.
Aba Yellow will host African Stars at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola at 15h00 in the second leg of their 2023/24 CAF Champions League first preliminary round.
The winners of this tie are set to play Simba Sports Club of Tanzania in the second round in September 2023.
