CAF CC: Zanaco in Al Ahli test as they play for pride

Zambia’s CAF Confederations Cup envoy Zanaco host Libyan side Al Ahli of Tripoli on the match day four at Lusaka’s National Heroes Stadium on Sunday.

Having suffered three straight defeats in a row, the bankers will be playing for pride against the North Africans.

Zanaco are bottom of Group A while Al Ahli are second and three points leaders Pyramids of Egypt, who have a 100 percent record.

While they are yet to win in the group stage, the seven times Zambian Champions picked up their first win in the league in 7 games.

Winger Ackim Mumba was terrific against Power Dynamos

On the back of that 2-1 victory over Power Dynamos in the league, the bankers have a blue print on how they can pick up their first win in the group stage.

With chief tormentor against Power Dynamos Felix Bulya cup tied, Kelvin Kaindu’s side have Moussa Souleyamnou and Chris M’hango back from injury and suspension.

Goalkeeper Lameck Siame is expected to start in goal with Kevin Owusu, M’hango, Kelvin Kapumbu and Mwila Phiri in defence.

Isaac Shamujompa with either Salulani Phiri or Boyd Musonda will join Lassa Kiala, Souleyamnou and Ackim Mumba in a five man midfield.

Captain Moses Phiri will lead the attack as Emmanuel Manda is still out with a groin injury.

Kick off @ 3pm CAT.
