Yanga suffered a 2-1 defeat to USM Algiers in the first leg of the CAF Confederations Cup final at Dar el Salaam’s Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on a Sunday.
Zambia striker Kennedy Musonda started in the match but couldn’t help his side to victory.
The former Power Dynamos striker had two chances to score but missed the target.
The return leg will be played in Algeria next week.
The Tanzanian champions will be hoping to overturn the scores.
Musonda is expected to join Chipolopolo Boys camp after continental duties.
