CAF 2023 AFCON Qualifiers Scorers – Zambia

Zambia booked a place at the CAF 2023 African Cup of Nations with a match to spare.

Enroute to the Ivory Coast finals, the 2012 Champions have conceded 5 goals.

The Frankie Musonda led defence has kept two clean sheets.

While Zambia has been goal shy in the past, that hasn’t been the case with the Copper Bullets hitting an incredible 11 goals.

Actually they have scored in each one of the five matches.

The only other time Zambia was so impressive was during the 2000 AFCON qualifiers when Ben Bamfuchile’s Copper Bullets’ went unbeaten.

Remember the likes of Frazer Kamwandi, Musole Sakulanda, Freddie Mwila Jnr and Masauso Tembo.

Lameck Banda – 2 goals – The Lecce forward is slowly earning a name and becoming a fans favourite.

Speed, power and agility best describes the 22 year old .

He came off the bench to score a brace at home in the 3-1 win over Lesotho.

Kings Kangwa – 2 goals – With the match headed for a draw, the 22 year old lifted the roof at a full to capacity 60,000 National Heroes Stadium as he scored an injury time free kick to sink Comoros to send the fans into frenzy

Enock Mwepu – 1 goal – With anxiety creeping inside Heroes Stadium, Mwepu calmed the nerves as he equalised against Comoros.

Career cut indeed.
