Buildcon record first win, Power held, Arrows lose again as Lumwana Radiants get huge result in Choma

Buildcon finally managed to record their first win of the season, Red Arrows suffered their fourth straight loss while Lumwana Radiants recorded the biggest shock of the weekend with a huge result in Choma. 

The MTN FAZ Super League continued on Saturday following its resumption on Friday after a two week break. 

Team Kopala provided one of the highlights of the weekend as they recorded their first win of the season beating Nchanga Rangers 2-0 at the Trade Fair Ground. 

Goals from Lionel Bong and Jonathan Manongo were enough to hand the Nchimunya Mweetwa tutored outfit their first maximum points of the campaign. 

At the National Heroes Stadium, In Janny Sikazwe’s final whistle farewell match, NAPSA Stars handed Red Arrows their fourth straight defeat. 

Goals from Simon Nkhata, Kapembwa Musonda and Augustine Mulenga gave the Pensioners a well deserved win over team man Airmen. 

Richard Daka was sent for an early shower following a second bookable offense. Saddam Yussuf Phiri scored the consolation goal from the penalty spot. 

The loss means the defending Champions drop to sixth on the log. 

In the early kick off at the same venue, Zanaco cruised to a 2-0 win over Chambishi. 

Goals from Abraham Siankombo and Charles Zulu were enough for the Kelvin Kaindu tutored outfit. 

The win takes the Bankers to fourth on the log with 28 points from 18 games. 

In Choma, arguably the biggest result of the weekend came from Choma as Lumwana Radiants came from a goal down to beat Green Eagles. 

Derrick Bulaya put Eagles in the lead in the fifth minute but Dina Dinanga equalized four minutes later before Joseph Chanda could put them in the lead at the end of the first stanza. 

Pheuzy Chibandika put the result to bed ten minutes into the second half. 

ZESCO United and Prison Leopards played to a 1-1 draw. 

Log leaders Power Dynamos came from a goal down to rescue a point. 

Without the league’s current leading goalscorer, Kennedy Musonda Power Dynamos needed Linos Makwaza Jnr to rescue a point and cancel Wezzy Kumwenda’s opener. 

Kansanshi Dynamos and Forest Rangers played out to a 2-2 draw. 

The MTN Super League continues this afternoon as Kabwe Warriors host 13 time record Champions,Nkana at the Godfrey Ucar Chitalu Stadium.
