The Zambia Super League rescheduled week 22 encounter involving Ndola side Buildcon and Mazabuka’s Nakambala Leopards is in doubt and may not take place on Wednesday.
This is because the Sugar Boys may not travel to Ndola to fulfill the fixture. The Mazabuka based outfit is facing sponsorship problems as their sole sponsors, Zambia Sugar is looking to pull out or at least cut the sponsorship package.
According to a ZamFoot Crew source close to the club, The players will have a meeting today with management and they will know the verdict on whether they will travel or not.
“Yes they are issues with sponsorship and the team may not travel. The players and management will have a meeting this morning to decide whether they will travel or not,” The source said.
Nakambala has yet to start training despite FAZ allowing the teams to start training as of 1st July following the green light given to the Association by Government.
The Sugar Boys are scheduled to play their first match after the Coronavirus induced break against Buildcon in Ndola tomorrow at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium. The Mazabuka based outfit is third from bottom with just 17 points to their name after 24 rounds of matches.
