Buffaloes open five-point lead, Kabwe Warriors finally win as Power Dynamos and Zanaco remain winless

Kabwe Warriors have finally managed to record a win this season while Sensational ZANACO and Power Dynamos are still winless after playing out to goalless draws in their respective games.

Log leaders Green Buffaloes have opened a five-point lead at the summit following a routine 2-0 win over Chambishi FC away in Chambishi.

The Zambia Super League entered week six of action on Saturday after with six matches taking center stage across the country.

In an early kick-off at Sunset Stadium, Nkwazi welcomed Forest Rangers with both teams eager to get maximum points.

After a goalless first half, Zambia U-20 forward Jonathan Munalula put the visitors in the lead with a close-range headed goal. Nkwazi needed a late Pride Mwansa strike to rescue a point.

The draw means Nkwazi move up to second place with eleven points while Fole Malembe is fourth with nine points.

In the second match at the same venue, Sensational Zanaco’s search for a first win and goal in the 2021/2022 Super League campaign will have to continue as they shared spoils with Prison Leopards.

A story of what-ifs and missed opportunities was the afternoon for the two sides. There was drama at the end when Audrick Nkole pointed to the centerline with what seemed like a goal, but the ball did not cross the line and it was easily canceled, 0-0 the match ended.

The results mean Kelvin Kaindu’s side is yet to pick up maximum points and yet to score a goal.

A goal each from Robert Chama Musonda and Friday Samu was enough to give Justin Chinama’s side a well-deserved win. The win means the Zambia army-sponsored outfit has now opened a five-point lead at the summit.

In Ndola, Lawrence Chenge’s second-half strike canceled out goal Alex Ng’onga’s first-half strike as Indeni and Nkana played out to a 1-1 draw.

In Kabwe, The Magnificent People’s team has finally managed a hard-fought 2-1 win over not-so-sharp Konkola Blades.

Jimmy Ndhlovu sealed the result from a penalty spot after Twiza Chaibela’a opener was canceled out by a Stanley Chibala goal.

Power Dynamos woes have continued after they were held to a goalless draw by the youthful Kafue Celtic.
