Former Copper Queens coach Bruce Mwape has been honoured with the President’s Insignia for meritorious achievement.
Mwape was honoured with the President’s Insignia for Meritorious Achievement by President Hakainde Hichilema.
The honour was bestowed on Mwape during the 61st Independence celebrations for Zambia.
The former Copper Queens coach famously qualified Zambia to back-to-back Olympics in 2020 (Tokyo) and 2024 (Paris).
He also qualified Zambia to the 2023 FIFA Women World Cup in Australia/New Zealand becoming the first coach to qualify Zambia to a Senior FIFA World Cup, Male or Female.
Other accolades include qualifying Zambia to three Women Africa Cup of Nations, winning bronze at the 2022 WAFCON and winning the 2022 COSAFA Women’s Championship.
