Chipolopolo coach Aggrey Chiyangi has recalled Bruce Musakanya and Larry Bwalya, after initially leaving the duo out of the 23-member squad heading to Niger and Benin for international friendly matches.
The omission of the duo raised mixed feelings from ardent soccer fans with some conspicuously questioning the technical benches decision.
Both Bruce and Larry made a tremendous contribution in helping Zambia advance to the final stage of the 2020CHAN qualifiers at Heroes Stadium when Zambia defeated Botswana, to set a date with Eswantini.
Bruce Musakanya came from the substitutes bench to score the winning goal in Zambia’s 3-2 win over Botswana while Larry Bwalya played the most part of the game before being rested in the second half.
Chiyangi has named 14 locals and nine foreign-based players including the Orlando Pirates duo of Augustine Mulenga and Justin Shonga.
The under-23 players are not part of the Chipolopolo outing as they are on coach Beston Chambeshi’s Egypt 2019 Africa Cup of Nations plan.
Zambia plays Niger on October 10 before facing Benin three days later in Cotonou.
The FIFA window falls on October 7-15.
Zambia hosts eSwatini on October 19 at National Heroes Stadium (CHAN) while on November 11 they play Algeria in Blida and host Zimbabwe on November 19.
Zambia leaves for Niger tomorrow (Sunday).
