Both of Mwepu’s goals nominated for Brighton October goal of the month

Zambia national team midfielder Enock Mwepu has been nominated for the Brighton and Hove Albion goal of the month for October.

Mwepu’s wonder strike against Liverpool over the weekend which opened his English Premier League goal and his header in the Carabao Cup against Leicester City have both been nominated for the goal of the month award.

Mwepu’s goals are up against Leandro Trossard’s goal against Liverpool and Brighton and Hove Albion Women’s forward Lee Geummin’s goal against Tottenham.

Mwepu, who has been a Liverpool fan since childhood, stole the show on Saturday as he netted a beauty of a goal to cut Liverpool’s lead in half before the break.

The summer signing from the Austrian side, Redbull Salzburg sent an exquisite cross-shot over into the box, and it just managed to squeeze between the crossbar and the fingertips of Allison into the back of the net, opening his English Premier League goal account.

The second goal nominated was scored against Patson Daka’s Leicester City in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday last week.

The Computer came off the bench to score a brilliant header for the Seagulls in a Carabao Cup defeat to Leceister City.

The match ended 2-2 regulation time. Despite netting an equalizer, the 22-year-old midfielder missed from the spot in the post-match penalties.
