Former Chipolopolo defender Billy Mwanza has now emerged as the favorite to take over from Tenant Chilumba as Nkwazi Football Club head coach.
Mwanza is Nkwazi assistant coach currently but may lead the team in the interim capacity and depending on his performance could be handed the role permanently understands the ZamFoot Crew.
The Nkwazi Football Club hierarchy is believed to be open to giving Billy and the remaining members of the technical bench a chance to prove themselves.
Nkwazi Executive made contact with Albert Mphande and Mohamed Fathi for the vacant top job but seem to now be leaning towards giving the former Nkana defender a chance to prove himself.
The ZamFoot Crew also understands that the Nkwazi Executive also offered Oswald Mutapa the technical director role which was previously held by Tenant Chilumba before he was named head coach and Dennis Makinka sidelined.Â
Mutapa is however not so keen to rejoin Nkwazi Football Club at the moment following his departure from Red Arrows where he held the same position.
The Nkwazi top job was left vacant following the departure of Tenant Chilumba who ditched them to join ZESCO United as assistant coach to George Lwandamina.
Nkwazi are currently languishing in the relegation, 16th on the table with 17 points from 17 games played so far.
