Kafue Celtic forward Francisco Mwepu is likely to miss the 2018 COSAFA U20 championships the ZamFoot crew understands.
The Zambia U20 talisman is in Austria attending trials with Champions, Redbull Salzburg in bid to seal a deal and join his brother Enock at the club.
Mwepu is expected to be in Austria to 17th December which is three days after the date set for final of the COSAFA U20 championships.
All the best to Francisco Mwepu as he goes to join @RedBullSalzburg for training and assessment until the 17th of December. May God go before you. #TheCrocs🐊 pic.twitter.com/fu7Fnut3C2

Mwepu is a key member of coach Charles Bwale’s squad. He scored the two goals the junior copper bullets scored at COSAFA and netted a brace in Rwanda . At some point he scored all the goals for the U20 in a period of over six months.
Coach Charles Bwale however has other options in attack however in England based Mwiya Malumo, James Chalimina and Young Buffaloes forward Emmanuel Mwinde.
The tournament will be staged in Kitwe for a second year running between 2nd and 14th December.

It would have been interesting to see the strike prowess of Malumo and Mwepu during the COSAFA so we know what the crystal ball is saying about the future of Zambia football.
But I wish Mwepu well.
