With the just ended 2020/2021 Zambian football season and the opening of the 2021 transfer window, Zambian Football has already started steering up with transfers and a lot of other issues.
The 2017 premier league saw, Monze Swallows test top tier football but unfortunately they were relegated in the same debut season and they find themselves trading in Division One South currently.
After being demoted, the Musanza boys have not found things easy either in the Provincial league as luck of sponsorship has hit them badly which saw the team losing key players in the process, the team at times could not fulfill fixtures as their bus was on bricks in kalomo for about 6 weeks after the team had suffered a break down on their trip to Livingston for a league fixture.
Despite finishing second after losing to a National League team in the Provincial cup final, Monze town is on the verge of losing a D1 team to Barts FC of Choma trading in D3 as they are on the verge of getting the slot, the ZamFoot Crew understands.
“Yes negotiations took place a month ago and some payments were made, we are hoping to get the slot and bring it here in Choma,” an insider at Barts told the ZamFoot Crew in an exclusive interview.
“It’s not just cash involved, we will do a swap, we will give them Monze Swallows our D3 slot subject to promotion to D2 and get the slought of D1 with some cash involved.”
With that information, the Monze community does not want to lose their only D1 team unless if Seed United qualifies to D1.
“In the same process we as Barts will trim our squad though half of our team will remain and the rest taken to D4 if we find a slot there but we will get about 6 players from Swallows to complete the deal,” he concluded.
If this comes to pass, Barts will have a D1 side next season, a D4 outfit, a Women’s team playing in Choma district women’s league, an U15, and a feeder team playing in Choma amateur league and a U10 for both ladies and boys as developmental sides.
