A thrilling and dramatic Saturday of Barclays Cup Semi-finals ended with Nkana FC setting up a final with Young Green Buffaloes.
It was a shock results in the early kickoff as Young Green Buffaloes stunned their seniors Green Buffaloes to make history as the first ever Division One side to play in the finals of the prestigious cup competition. Young Buffaloes emerged 4-3 winner on post match spot kicks after a 1-1 regulation time stalemate.
Nkana also emerged winners in an epic battle against perennial rivals Power Dynamos. The two teams were tied at 2 – 2 after regulation time with Nkana proceeding to win 5 – 4 on post match penalties.
The final will be played on 10th November.
Match details to follow…….
Am still not convinced by the explanation given on why Jenny Sikazwe disallowed the Nkana penalty goal. I thought a retake would do? well, in as much as it hurts me i have to Congratulate Nkana for their win. Based on league form Nkana stood a better chance of winning this game i was actually surprised that it even went to penalties
Mr Sikazwe is a FIFA referee, but that decision makes me believe he is not a good referee.he need extra classes.
Remember he is only human. We all make mistakes. Overall he is a world class referee.
Zamfoot,
Please give player and coaching profile of young GBFC- very unusual for juniors to humble their immediate seniors, may have a few gems to look out for. Anyway congratulations to YGBFC .. all the best for final !!
Good times for Nkana….headed to CAF games and also playing local cup finals….well done!
